Hinsdale Multicultural Arts & Education Association (HMAE) was pleased to participate in MAHA’s charity concert, gala dinner, and dance on Saturday, August 22, at Chicago Symphony Center.

The event brought together music, cultural performances, community organizations, and supporters in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary while raising awareness and support for Alzheimer’s disease.

HMAE Board members and student performers took part in the event, with HMAE performers contributing their talents to the program. Three HMAE high school students performed at Chicago Symphony Center, and HMAE performers also joined artists from across the Chicago area in the grand finale chorus, “Tomorrow Will Be Better.”

One particularly memorable moment was a performance of the well-known Chinese song “Jasmine Flower” by musicians from different cultural backgrounds. The performance offered a meaningful example of how music and the arts can cross cultural boundaries, allowing traditions to be appreciated, interpreted, and shared by people from many different backgrounds.

Beyond the concert itself, the gala dinner and dance provided opportunities for community members and organizations to connect, strengthen relationships, and support a shared charitable purpose.

HMAE is grateful to MAHA, the performers, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners who helped make the event possible. Experiences like this reflect HMAE’s continuing commitment to using multicultural arts and education to connect people, encourage youth participation, and build stronger communities.
