Hinsdale Multicultural Arts & Education Association (HMAE) is a community-based nonprofit that builds cultural bridges and community belonging through celebrations, education, youth leadership, and partnerships.

HMAE brings together families, students, schools, libraries, faith communities, civic partners, health and wellness organizations, and local volunteers to create meaningful programs where people from diverse backgrounds can be seen, connected, and included in the shared life of Hinsdale.

News & Updates

  • HMAE’s High School Lunar New Year Celebration was recently featured on the front page of the local village newspaper, marking the second time an HMAE Lunar New Year event has received such recognition. This coverage highlights both the event’s success and HMAE’s growing impact in promoting cultural exchange and heritage preservation.
  • HMAE is proud to share that its Lunar New Year celebration at the Hinsdale Public Library was featured in The Hinsdalean’s 2025 annual review on January 29, 2026, appearing both in the January section and on the cover as a meaningful recognition of its community impact.
  • In the age of AI, language learning is not becoming unnecessary—rather, the cost of learning has been significantly reduced, making it easier to acquire new languages.

  • Language continues to matter because it is more than a tool for communication; it carries culture, history, and personal identity—deeply human dimensions that remain scarce in an AI-driven world.
